The family heritage as educators in Roane County reaches back over 200 years. With our distinguished founding Board members, the Foundation intends to carry that tradition forward for the next 200 years.

Graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, B.S,. Mechanical Engineering: His career has been spent in the Engineering, Design, and the Construction and Development Industry.

Graduate of Roane County High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville ,TN: B.S. Engineering Physics; M.S. and PhD in Physics at University of Virginia with graduate study at Oxford University, Oxford, England: His career has been spent in Materials Science Research and Development.

JOAN M. AKERS SCOTT
DIRECTOR / BOARD MEMBER
Graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville: B.A. Social Services. Post Graduate Degree from the University of Tennessee in School Psychology. Her career was spent in School Psychology and Special Education.
The above graduates of Roane County High School have joined with their spouses to create the Foundation. We are fortunate to have been guided by the shared wisdoms of the Scott and Ellis families, as well as the Sinclair family, of Hershey, PA, the Pavlenda family of Elyria, OH, and the Akers family of Nashville, TN. These families have been mentors who reinforced our appreciation of education.
